We Also Recommend

  • The BioLogic FreeDrive encloses the bicycle chain to keep the rider’s clothing protected from grease and dirty spray. Due to its ingenious design, the FreeDrive moves with the chain – unlike some other fixed chain protection methods that add friction. It also reduces chain vibration and noise. With a FreeDrive, you can say goodbye to bulky chainguards.

The BioLogic Freedrive chain cover is also a great and minimalist accessory for fixed gear riders or any single speed riders who wants to add up some clean customization on their chain and protect themselves at the same time.

Comes in 254 cm (100") length.

    • Compatible only with single speed and multi-speed internal hub gear bikes

    • Requires 17-tooth rear cog or greater

pretty good so far but fitting it on the chain drive was a pain. (Posted on 7/22/14)

I liked this solution for greasy legs. I rode it in the rain though and it traps water very easily. You must remove it in order to prevent your chain from rusting. (Posted on 4/13/14)

unexpected ruggedness in the material, very good
the only drawback is the sound it makes while cycling, like making popcorn (Posted on 9/18/13)

    4. Great product, but a pain to install Review by brisbourne

I chose to buy a single speed bike in part because I planned to fit a Biologic Freedrive and now that it is fitted I'm very happy. It made a bit of a noise at first, but it is a lot quieter now and I can cycle from meeting to meeting around London without getting my trousers dirty (I need to be reasonably presentable at all times). I haven't done it yet, but I'm pretty sure I will be able to wipe the chain cover clean with a soapy j-cloth. Buying the FreeDrive was a bit of a pain because there are no longer any UK stockists. Sort it out someone! This is a great product for commuters who value cleanliness and convenience. Fitting the FreeDrive was even more of a pain. It is fiddly to get it over the chain and I wore the tips of two of my fingers right through. Plus the first time I fitted it the ends came up and I had to start again. I think the ends came up because the gap between them grew too big after a few turns. Fortunately they send enough piping for two chains. The second time I fitted it I made sure to push the piping back in on itself all the time so it wasn't at all stretched, and that worked fine. (Posted on 12/15/11)
